Thursday-Friday November 19-20, 2015, I spent two pleasant days in the very north of Sweden. The accounting and auditing bureau Revisionstjänst EOB AB had ordered a one day lecture on Performance and Income Planning from Wolters Kluwer, and I was chosen as lecturer.

I arrived by air to Kiruna and train to Gällivare on Thursday evening November 19 and the friendly staff immediately invited me to start with bowling, beer and get to know each other, followed by a nice dinner. Power failure didn’t stop them to enjoy!

Revisionstjänst EOB has about 40 employees at four locations, all in the northern part of Sweden: Luleå, Gällivare, Kiruna and Pajala. Each year they organize a staff conference and this time they spent three days in Gällivare.

At Friday November 20 a smaller part of the staff was discussing auditing matters, while I had the greater part of the staff for my lecture which was based on my book “Performance and Income planning”. The participants were active with questions and opinions, and I left in the evening with a good feeling and a hope to see them again in the future.

I arrived to Kiruna on Thursday afternoon to snow and a temperature of – 6 degrees, which felt quite good compared to the damp coldness and darkness of about 0 degrees without snow in Stockholm. When I left Gällivare on Friday evening the temperature had fallen to – 22 degrees, but the chill was well compensated by the warm kindness of our northern colleagues 🙂
